National Instruments (NI), has announced the release of LabVIEW 2018 Control Design and Simulation Module. This module provides tools with which you can analyze open-loop model behavior, design closed-loop controllers, simulate dynamic systems, and deploy models and control systems to real-time hardware. The Control Design and Simulation Module also provides tools to complete the entire system identification process, which involves building mathematical models of a dynamic system based on a set of measured stimulus and response data samples.

In the LabVIEW 2018 Control Design and Simulation Module, you can convert your .slx model files into LabVIEW VIs that contain a simulation diagram using the Simulation Model Converter.
About LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module. Simulation is a process that involves using software to recreate and analyze the behavior of dynamic systems. You use the simulation process to lower product development costs by accelerating product development. You also use the simulation process to provide insight into the behavior of dynamic systems you cannot replicate conveniently in the laboratory. For example, simulating a jet engine saves time, labor, and money compared to building, testing, and rebuilding an actual jet engine. You can use the LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module to simulate a dynamic system or a component of a dynamic system. About System Identification Assistant 2015. Use the interactive System Identification Assistant to load and analyze signals, preprocess signals for model estimation and validation, and identify the characteristics of a signal in the SignalExpress environment.
About NI LabView. LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench) is a graphical programming language that uses icons instead of lines of text to create applications. In contrast to text-based programming languages that use instructions to determine the order of program execution, LabVIEW uses dataflow programming. In data flow programming, the flow of data through the nodes on the block diagram determines the execution order of the VIs and functions. VIs, or virtual instruments, are LabVIEW programs that imitate physical instruments.
In LabVIEW, you build a user interface by using a set of tools and objects. The user interface is known as the front panel. You add this graphical code, also known as G code or block diagram code, to the block diagram. The block diagram somewhat resembles a flowchart. The block diagram, front panel, and graphical representations of code compose a VI.
